I was in Monterey on business this past December. It was last minute and Monterey Hotel had a vacancy....thankfully. This boutique hotel is incredible. The bedding was very comfy, the staff was great and I needed a quick Haircut. April at Salon A was fantastic....worth the trip on her own. ~ Guest
Location is always important in a Historical City & Resort Area, which is why we decided to revisit The Monterey Hotel DownTown, since it is within walking distance to most everything. * We only needed our Car from the Garage for our Drive to revisit the Big Sur Area. If you are staying several nights and want variety as we did, I can also recommend the Coffee &/or a hot Breakfast across the Street at ; CaffeTrieste or at MontereyCrapeCompany in the next block . For a change from Seafood consider the Montrio Bistro which is in the Old FireHouse across from the New addition to the Hotel on the next street over. Note: There was no noise or paint fumes, since Construction is almost completed, so the New section is where we plan to stay next visit. The Monterey Hotel General Manager Maureen Doran mades a difference for how returing Guest remember their visits! She put us in the Same Historical corner Suite on the 3rd floor upstairs, facing the street and looking out at the Bay . For our 50th Wedding Anniversary she even had Flowers and a Bottle of Wine . I was also impressed by her involvement in the Chamber of Commerce Vs just being a Member. ~ Guest
